Hallo, ich bin neu, und mein deutschsprach ist schlecht. :-)
Aber hier ist mein Baur TC! 1985 320i, 136km.

Sieht aus wie Diamantschwarz metallic mit Stoff Perlbeige.
So sollte meiner auch mal aussehen wenn ich "fertig" bin.

nice car is your baur, it's in a very good condition at the pictures ... Here at this pages you have a great chance to force your german training ;-) For shure at the beamer club here are a lot of english speaking guys. For us it's a good chance to do some english lessons
Tell us more about the baur´s at US ... I suppose there are not so many of this cars running on US streets?

Stimmt!!Es wurde bei Autohaus Raab in München verkauft. Dann kaufte jemand in New York City, importierte es um 2001 (mit einem Schiff!!) und dann geholt es nach Buffalo. Es war kaput aber mein Bruder ist ein guter Mechaniker! ich kaufte es für $500 aber jemand zahlt $4000-$9000 für diese Autos in den USA.
7 baur tc wurden direkt durch BMW importiert. Ich weiß nicht, wieviele hier sind, aber nicht viel.
des grossen Teiches = Lake Erie! In der nahe von Niagara Falls. (20 minuten)
Die Sitze und der Fußboden sind ziemlich schmutzig. Ich ersetze sie mit schwarzen Sitzen und Teppich...

@ Volkert: meinst Du das klappt noch vor der Rente?
Hab vorhin mal den Baur gestartet und sieht da... einmal kurz den Schlüssel gedreht und er brabbelte los
Unter der Rückbank habe ich noch türkise Kabel gefunden. Da war sicher irgendwann mal ne Endstufe etc verbaut. Der Kram fliegt als nächstes raus. Der Splint von der AHK ist leider immernoch fest gegammelt, jemand ne Idee wie ich den los bekomme?
achja, übrigens n schönes Auto in Amerika!

For us "grosser Teich" means Atlantic Ocean (THINK BIG!!!)
Did you try to clean the upholstery and carpet with a wet cleaning system (that´s a device like a vacuum cleaner, but with a spray valve for cleaning liquids, which sprays those liquids on the seats an carpets, and then the vacuum cleaner part of the device removes the liquid and with it most of the dirt...) ? Here in Germany you can have those cleaners for rent at most of the dry-cleaners around...
I used it on some seats for my Opel Ascona, and it worked really well!
I think it would be a pity to remove the good (and in this color RARE) seats and replace them by some ordinary and boring black ones like any other E30 has...

Und somit wird es wieder einen weniger in Perlbeige geben. Obwohl so ganz in in Schwarz? Da ist dann der ganze Kontrast weg.

Ja, hasse ich auch die US-bumpers! Dieses Auto ist "grey market" in Amerika, ohne die üblichen Beschränkungen, weil es nicht durch ein USA Autohaus verkauft wurde...
Here's some English for you to practice and because I'm in a hurry and it takes forever for me to form coherent German sentences!
About the interior: This car sat abandoned at a dealer for almost a full year, without the top cover. I live in an area with a lot of snow, rain, etc. The electronics and dashboard are luckily fine, but the steering wheel and rest of the interior didn't survive so well. The car was infested with ants! The driver door panel is unfortunately ripped along the area of the window handle, and I don't think there is a chance of finding a matching fabric again. If someone knows where, I'd love to know! The seats are ok, but the fabric is very rough from being exposed to the weather. Not very comfortable, and not becoming of such a nice car.
If I could find replacement parts here of the same color and fabric, I would do so, but with Baurs not very common and shipping from Europe so expensive, I don't think it's possible...
Since I prefer the black on black look, I'm looking for used pieces to replace this interior. If one day I come across a nice condition interior that matches the original, I'd switch it back! I did find black door panels with the grey Baur fabric, but unfortunately someone cut speaker holes into them in a very odd spot, and not a place I wish to put a speaker.
